"Uzbekistan's Surkhandarya Region Set for Major Tourism Development"

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has unveiled an ambitious plan to boost tourism in the Surkhandarya region. The area has over 600 cultural heritage and tourism sites, making it a potential tourist hotspot. The comprehensive program includes developing tourism infrastructure and attractions, such as creating open-air museums and exploring historical caves with the assistance of international experts.

New tourist routes will connect cultural and historical sites. The government will subsidize hotel construction to triple tourist capacity.

As a part of the development of civil aviation in the Surkhandarya region, regular flights are planned to be introduced. Starting from 2024, passenger aircraft will operate flights between Sariosiyo and Tashkent. Furthermore, the area will enhance railway connections to significant destinations by introducing special tourist carriages and new trains.

This initiative represents a significant step towards promoting the Surkhandarya region as a major tourist destination, contributing to Uzbekistan's growing reputation in the global tourism market.
