Uzbekistan's Tourism Boost: February 2024 Initiatives

February 2024 was a big month for Uzbekistan in terms of making tourism better and working more with other countries. This time showed the country's wish to bring new ideas and work with people worldwide.

A workshop in Tashkent on February 15 discussed how critical digital services are for growing tourism. It was set up with Mastercard and the Tourism Committee. The meeting examined the importance of up-to-date digital tools to make travelling more accessible and fun.

The Samarkand area plans to make a tourist spot over more than 4,500 hectares. This plan has green places to stay, yurts, spots for cars to camp, and fun things like zip-lining and bungee jumping.

Following Uzbekistan's idea, the United Nations General Assembly named 2027 the International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism.

In Khorezm, they are making tourism better by making museums, opening restaurants that stay open all day and night, and starting new flights to places like St. Petersburg and Beijing.

At a hotel business meeting in Tashkent, it was shared that Uzbekistan hopes to welcome 10 million tourists in 2024.

LOT Polish Airlines will start regular flights between Tashkent and Warsaw on March 14. The flights will be on Boeing 737 MAX 8, thrice weekly.

These events and plans are significant steps in making Uzbekistan a place people want to visit. They show the country's wish for new ideas, caring for the earth, and working with others.
